Hopkins Crit & Overall Series Prizes!!

This Sunday is the Hopkins Raspberry Festival Criterium - our last race of the MWCMR series. The Hopkins course is a flat, fast, 4-corner crit that goes through the downtown area. You don't even need to use your brakes on this course! The Women's Cat 4 MWCMR race is at 11:10 am, and the Cat 4 women can also do the Women's Open race at 12:30. After the Cat 4 race, we'll tally the final MWCMR series points, and we'll have an awards presentation in the small park near registration at 1:30 pm (after the Women's Open race).

The top 6 overall points leaders will receive cash prizes - $100 to 1st place, $75 to 2nd, $50 to 3rd, $40 to 4th, $30 to 5th, and $20 to 6th. In addition, the top 10 overall points leaders will receive some sweet prizes....we have $700 worth of schwag to give away to our top 10!!! The women in the leader's jersey at the end of day will walk away with almost $300 in cash and prizes!

(In case of a tie in points, the tie-breaker will go to the person who's done the most MWCMR races. If both racers have done the same number of races, the tie-breaker will go to the person with the highest average finish for all MWCMR races. Riders who have upgraded during the MWCMR series are still eligible for prizes if their points fall within the top ten).

We hope to see you at the races in Hopkins, and be sure to stick around for the awards presentation at 1:30. And remember, the first 30 women to register for the Cat 4 race will also receive a FREE BOX of LUNA bars (15 bars to a box)! We'll give those boxes of LUNA bars away at the awards presentation too (so you don't have to worry about hauling them around after registering for the Cat 4race).

A few quick MWCMR updates

1. Congrats to everyone who did the Northfield Crit today! (Results will be posted Wednesday night sometime.)
2. This Sunday is the fifth and final race of the 2006 MWCMR series - the Hopkins Raspberry Fest Criterium.
3. Please note: the first 30 Cat 4 women to register at the Hopkins Crit will receive a FREE box of Luna bars (there are 15 Luna bars in a box...a $20+ value).
4. After the Hopkins Crit, we'll tally the MWCMR series points as quickly as possible, then we'll have an informal awards ceremony in the park near registration at approximately 1:30 pm. Prizes for the series will be awarded to the top 10 points holders for the overall series.
